After the last two years in which we felt the impact of visual messages more deeply and discovered the limits of digitalization, we have experienced the return to physical spaces, collective works, and crowded environments again this year. As in many other areas, design education has also gained new achievements in this search for the limits. Perhaps we will be able to define this area, where new approaches will emerge at the horizon of the two perspectives between yesterday and today, more clearly in the coming years. Allowing us to read the traces of this process, the graduation exhibition named "Horizon" brings together the visual and interactive narrations and design solutions which graduates of 2022 created with their own design approaches at the end of an intense research process. While our departmental program, which aims to raise research-oriented and creative designers, offers our students the opportunity to experience many different media and approaches, it also enables them to discover their own potentials, improve their creativity by completing a practical and collective work process. The traces of this process can be found in the projects they produced in various fields such as photography, video, animation, book design, corporate identity, and brand design, which are created as a result of an intensive studio work. In addition to representing the first step in the professional life of our graduates, these projects are also witnesses of a period in which we explore the limits of digitalization. On behalf of all Visual Communication Design instructors, I congratulate our graduates of 2020 and wish them success in their professional lives.
